Published April 6th, 2021 Add a Touch of Pampering to your Holiday Stay Published in: General

Imagine a holiday stay with a pampering session or a deep, relaxing massage, sounds divine doesn’t it. Well, we know how you can make this even better; it can all be performed in the comfort of your holiday home, you don’t have to take even one step one out of your holiday home for this indulgence.

Home Spa Cornwall offer a professional at home service, qualified therapists will visit you in your property where you can indulge in a superb range of treatment options. They offer a full beauty service with all your favourite treatments.

What could be more convenient and luxurious than a home pampering session, you don’t have to worry about getting yourself ready to head out, if you prefer to stay in pyjamas, then so be it. The only effort required is opening the door to greet your therapist. You also don’t have to worry about going around with greasy hair, or without makeup after your treatment.

If this is not something you have previously considered, then you don’t know what you are missing. After the year that we have all had, we deserve a little pampering to ease those stresses away.

Appointments can be scheduled throughout the day; they even offer evening appointments. So, if you have had a busy day exploring the delights of Cornwall, you can relax with a lovely relaxing massage. A massage not only relaxes the body but soothes the mind. Or perhaps consider a holistic therapy with some reflexology, guaranteed to leave you feeling incredible.

Looking to get fit and require some direction, they can help with this, and you could leave Cornwall with a whole new approach to your diet and exercise.

Travelling as a group of friends or for a special occasion make it a party night, get the drinks and nibbles in, and you are good to go! Heading out to party or for a special occasion, have the team come to do your makeup and nails, you will feel a million dollars.

Perhaps you know someone travelling to Cornwall and could book this service as a delightful surprise.

One thing you can be assured of you will feel comfortable and at ease throughout your treatment. If you need any more convincing, check out the chat with had with Emslie who was happy to further explain the services they offer and its benefits.

Thanks, Emslie, for taking the time to chat with us. The last year has been particularly challenging and your industry is among one of the worst to have been affected. How have you coped with all the turmoil and uncertainty?

"Thanks for having me! It certainly has been a very difficult year for us all, and especially hard not to be able to give our regular customers their treatments at a time when (amongst everything) mental health has also been really affected."

"I’ve tried to stay positive and really take the time to work on myself as well as the parts of Home Spa Cornwall that can sometimes get a little neglected (my spreadsheets have never been so upto date and tidy!!). Setting small goals throughout the year has helped give me encouragement to keep busy and knowing there’s an end in sight has also helped keep me positive!"

How has COVID affected your industry? Hygiene has always been integral to the beauty industry, have you had to undertake any extra steps/precautions?

"We’re always really careful to ensure hygiene is of a very high standard, but we’ve certainly had to take it up to another level with the current covid situation. As per government guidelines, all of our therapists wear PPE throughout treatments, including a face mask and a visor. As the treatments are within clients homes, it’s not essential but clients have the option to also wear a mask (which can then be removed during treatments). We’ve added more frequent hand washing into our set up and set down and are careful to ensure we set up the treatment couch in a well ventilated area. Hand sanitizer is always on hand for therapists and clients to use, and clients have the option to provide their own towels if preferable."

How long have you been a qualified therapist?

"I’ve personally been qualified as a therapist since 2005 (Where does the time go?!) and all Home Spa Therapists have at least 3 years of experience working within top Spas both in Cornwall and the rest of the UK. I’ve been really lucky throughout my career as a Therapist and have worked in some beautiful Spa’s including St Michaels Resort, Falmouth and The Sanctuary Spa, Covent Garden. I also worked for a while as a mobile Therapist in London for Urban Massage, it was quite an experience travelling via public transport around London carrying a massage couch!"

What are the benefits in your opinion of having the spa come to you at home?

"One of the main benefits of having the Spa come to you would be not having to get in a car and drive home, which can totally undo all of the time spent switching off, especially during a relaxing massage. I think during the current pandemic, it’s also really reassuring for clients to have treatment in their own home, if they’re cautious about mixing with lots of other people. Many of our clients will also say, one of the main benefits of having the spa come to you, is being able to just pop your dressing gown on after a treatment or even roll straight into bed!"

Do your customers have to do anything in advance of your visit?

"All that our clients need to do prior to an appointment, is decide on the best space for the treatment to take place, then they can sit back, relax and wait for the spa to come to them!"

A visit to a spa is all about the smells, ambient music and surroundings, how do you achieve this in the home?

"One of the first things a therapist will do on arrival is work with the client to choose the perfect spot in the house to set up; whether this is in front of a large window over looking the sea, next to a balcony with the warm breeze flowing in, or for totally relaxation in a room with the curtains drawn and candles lit. We use essential oils throughout our treatments to give the scent of a spa, chilled music is played from our portable speaker system and the couch is covered with a heated blanket to cocoon the client in warmth. When walking into the room to start your treatments, the room has been transformed into a Spa treatment room."

Which massage would you recommend our customers to try?

"One of our most popular Massages is the Signature Experience Massage; Home Spa Cornwall's custom massage will leave you deeply relaxed and in a zone of zen, enhanced with hot stones and an aromatherapy blend."

"A full body massage, incorporating the heat of stones, this massage also includes a sea salt foot scrub and warm oil scalp treatment to provide true head-to-toe relaxation."

What products do you use in your treatments?

"We use a range of products including Neals Yard, OPI and the Gel Bottle. We also have our own range of luxury massage and body oils, that can be purchased for use at home to continue the at home spa experience."

What are some simple steps we can do at home for our beauty regime?

"One of the main things to make you feel great is to twice daily cleanse, tone and moisture. Doing a weekly body scrub helps to invigorate and the use of a body oil on damp skin will lock in moisture and leave your skin with a dewy glow."

What do you love about beauty?

"I love giving all treatments, especially massages. Having pedicures regularly is something I love, and a manicure really helps you to feel polished."

What products do you swear by?

"One of my favourite products to use is the Neal's Yard Remedies Frankincense Age-Defying Cream. I am also a big fan of Elemis products. My go to for nails is an OPI gel polish."

What’s your own personal favourite beauty treatment?

"I love a deep tissue massage!! And if I really want to switch off, I find a facial is super relaxing! Especially a home spa facial, which includes face, neck, shoulder, scalp and hand and arm massage, the only thing is it’s hard to stay awake!"

Sum up your job in three words!

"Relaxing, interesting and varied!"

If you could go to any spa in the world, where would you visit and why?

"I think I would go for Chiva-Som, Hua Hin, Thailand, as I love the sunshine, being next to the beach and a strong Thai Massage!"
